I've been dipping into your website for a couple of years now, makes me feel closer to my mum who passed away in feb 07.She was from Carrick and spoke very fondly of her childhood growing up there//her name was Margaret Harrigan (Peggy).I visited the town in 02 and fell in love with it.I'm very proud of my irish heritage and will definitely return.

Love to drop into your site from time to time. My Mother was born in Carrick - Margaret Mary Harrigan on 05.06.21. Daughter of Patrick and Bridget Harrigan. We brought her home a couple of times before she passed away in 2007 and we all absolutely loved it there.

I am developing a memorial to a former Carrick on Suir resident Constable John Francis Power born in 1842 and murdered in 1867 as a gold escort officer between Clermont and Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. It will be situated at the Bedford Weir in Blackwater, Queensland.

Hi.....Last weekend four of your residents visited my hometown of Tilting, NL to attend Feile Tilting. In scanning your newspaper I read three references to those folks. 1) "....laying a wreath at the grave of Michael Greene". I, along with many others from Tilting were present when Tom, Sylvia, Margaret and Frances laid that wreath. 2) Read an article dated 2009 on Tom Nealon and his contributions to the Carrick on suir theatre scene. He is the 'Tom' referenced in 1) above. 3)
Another story talked about Councillor Sylvia Cooney Sheehan; Sylvia was another of the four....the other two were Margaret Doyle and Frances Norris. We enjoyed their company and made friends which will last for ever. My wife and I on going to Carrick on Suir, hopefully next year. Cheers
